Happy New Year, dear Reader!I hope your holidays were filled with warmth and joy, whether you spent them with family, chosen family, or on your own. The start of a new year is often a time to pause, reflect, and think about where you want to spend your time and energy. It’s a moment to decide what you want to hold on to and what you’re ready to let go of. So this newsletter edition is more about my own journey and reflection, and a bit less about the business itself. Shall we start? In this newsletter:
Grand Life HorizonsMy Word for You in 2025 I like to start the year by choosing a word. Or at least, I tell myself that I’m choosing it—when in reality, the word often chooses me. A way of inviting something in. It sets the tone for the year, serving as a compass when I inevitably get lost in the nitty-gritty of life. This year, the word is COURAGE.In French, when someone is about to face a big moment—an exam, an important presentation, or something else—we don’t necessarily wish them luck or success. We wish them courage. Bon courage. The courage to go through what must be gone through, whatever the outcome. And so, this year, it’s what I wish for you For 2025, I wish you courage: I wish you courage: To say, "I love you," when words feel tight, To try, to fail, to rise once more, Because the life that’s true, the one that’s real, Go live this year as only you can do. From me to youMy Year and What I’m leaving behind 2024 was one of those years where life happens, and everything else has to take a back seat. It was a year of deep acceptance. It was also a year of letting go—letting go of what’s been holding me back, and actively choosing instead to stay in the course of action. As Brené Brown says: “If you’re not in the arena getting your ass kicked, I’m not interested in your feedback.” I let go of perfectionism, too. I’m showing up even when things aren’t perfect—because moving forward, even imperfectly, is still progress. And while I stepped back from my business, I didn’t step away entirely. I used this time to clarify its direction—and I feel really good about where I’m headed. Through all of this, I’ve finally found fulfillment. I’ve started feeling grateful—not because my business or finances are exactly where I want them to be, but because I’ve embraced where I am. At the start of 2024, my intention was to shine from within. I wanted to feel centered and grounded, to look inward for answers instead of waiting for someone or something to save me. I can proudly say I’ve achieved that. The “shining” part? I’ll leave that for others to judge. But I do feel grounded—connected to this inner sense of knowing.I don’t have all the answers, but I trust myself to find the solutions I need or be guided to them when the time is right. As for 2025, my word is courage, and my intention is to show up persistently. I refuse to let go of my dreams. So I’ll keep showing up, day after day, until they happen.Let’s meet here in another year and see how that goes, shall we? Now, what about you Reader? What are you letting go of and welcoming in 2025? What's going on at BMCY?Fancy a FREE workshop on setting intentions?Since we’re in that time of year—the one where we naturally set goals, intentions, and pick our words—I thought I’d share something with you. Would you like to know my process for setting intentions? 🙂 I’ve been doing this for years, and it’s been my guide to manifesting some of the biggest things in my life:
It is no quick-fix solution, but it’s a way to stay anchored and aligned throughout the year (or even the decade). And as it happens, I shared this process in a workshop last December:Beyond SMART Goals: The Intentional Approach to Growth and Success. And the good news? It’s only 15 minutes long. Curious?
